What To Do This July on the Backroads
Summer is in full swing, and July is packed with live music, family fun, local markets, festivals, and community events across West Tennessee. Whether you’re looking for a night under the stars, a Saturday morning market stroll, or a weekend road trip, here’s what’s happening on the Backroads this month.
July 2 | H.W. Cox Park | Collierville, TN
One of the Mid-South’s largest Independence Day celebrations returns to Collierville. Enjoy food vendors, live entertainment from Alexis Grace and Party Planet, a military tribute, performances by the Tennessee Mass Choir, and an 18-minute fireworks spectacular to cap off the evening.
July 4 | Municipal Park | Germantown, TN
Celebrate Independence Day with live music, family activities, crafts, concessions, and a spectacular fireworks show. Entertainment begins at 5 p.m., followed by the Memphis Wind Symphony and a fireworks finale at 9:10 p.m.
July 4 | Hernando Civic Center Baseball Fields | Hernando, MS (DeSoto County)
Just south of the Tennessee line, Hernando’s annual Front Porch Fireworks celebration offers family activities, food vendors, and fireworks in a relaxed community setting.
July 9 | Collierville Town Square
Grab a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of live music in the heart of historic Collierville. The Main Street Concert Series brings the community together for great entertainment, local charm, and a perfect summer night on the square.
July 10 | Bobby Lanier Farm Park
Spend your Friday evening outdoors at Farm Park Fridays. Families can enjoy fresh air, community activities, and a relaxing atmosphere at one of the area’s most beautiful parks.
July 10–11 | Ripley City Park
One of the region’s most beloved summer traditions returns to Ripley. The Lauderdale County Tomato Festival features live entertainment, food vendors, family activities, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate West Tennessee’s famous tomatoes.
July 11 | Crossing Pavilion

Young artists can get creative during Kids Summer Art Classes at Liberty Vintage Marketplace & Studio. These hands-on classes offer a fun way for children to explore their artistic side during summer break.
